Oberthur Cash Protection and V Grupa demonstrate security box in Croatia.

On 05.06.2008 V Grupa presented the “Roller Safe” security container, manufactured by the French company Oberthur Cash Protection. Many companies, including Fina, Zaba, Erste Banka and Zagreb parking have attended the demonstration to see how this unique box works. 

Two people, dressed in white protective overalls, were appointed to open a box by any means possible. They started with a crowbar, trying to break the box open. The box immediately started beeping. Suddenly the box ejected thick red smoked, followed by white smoke. Once the smoke was gone the attempt to open the box continued. 

Some minutes later everyone realised that a crowbar alone was not enough to break the box open, so it was decided to use a large hammer... 

After 15 minutes of trying the box was finally open. Inside of the box everyone could see “banknotes” entirely covered with purple ink. 

Darko Vrbanac, president of V Grupa, explained that the box has an in-built ingelligence system which activates the box in the event of an attack. The security guards, transporting the cash, no longer need to have weapons to protect the cash. The box can only be opened in a secure location with special pin codes and cards that are only known to both guard and customer (double-security approach). The guard does not know how much money is in the box and cannot open the box. 

The price of such security boxes varies from €1000 to €4000, depending on customer needs and requested features.
